How He Loves by David Crowder*Band

One of my favorite David Crowder*Band songs is this one. The descriptions that are used to describe God's love for us are just so powerful. This song brings so many pictures to my mind. Like the line that goes "...Loves like a hurricane, I am a tree, bending beneath the weight of His wind and mercy...". Everyone's seen what a tree looks like in a category 5 hurricane. The tree is pretty much stripped of all its leaves, branches are breaking off, and it is swaying violently in the wind. So compare that image to what it is like experiencing God's love. His love takes away all of who we were, so He can help us grow again, always becoming more and more like Him. And when we experience His amazing love and grace, we can barely stand. How He loves us despite of who we are is simply amazing, and something to praise Him about!

Let the Waters Rise by MIKESCHAIR

This is an amazing new song by the new band MIKESCHAIR. I love this song because it sings about even if you feel like you are surrounded by crashing waves that threaten to drown you, God is still there with you, holding your head above water. And that we need to give all our worries and problems over to Him. Too many times, we get so caught up in looking at the waves and seeing just the storm, that we take our eyes off of Jesus (Matthew 14:22-33). This is when we feel we are going to drown. If we just trust God with everything , and hand all our troubles and fears over to Him, He will carry you through the storm.

Give This Christmas Away by Matthew West and Amy Grant

Okay, so I know that it is still a bit early to some for Christmas music :) But I love this song. And anyway, is there really a time when it is too early for Christmas music? Just kidding!

This song is a part of the VeggieTales: Saint Nicholas - A Story of Joyful Giving' video. It is sung by Matthew West and Amy Grant, and is done in conjunction with Samaritan's Purse: Operation Christmas Child.

The Sippy Cup Silly Song (Veggietales)

I came across this song on youtube, and I just had to share it! I hadn't seen this silly song before. Oh the memories this song brings back! The years of sippy cups in our house...the years of going into a restaurant and promptly dropping my drink on the floor when I stood up (even cups with lids). This video pretty much sums up my issues with open cups perfectly.

Comatose (live) by Skillet

Okay, before you quickly close this blog and think I've gone to the "dark side" of Christian music or something, let me just ask you to give it a chance.

This is one of my favorite songs of Skillet, particularly this live version. There are more guitars in the live version, versus the original (go ahead and laugh Muddy! lol). Plus, I love the meaning of the song. That without God in one's life, that person becomes sort of like a person in a coma, just going through the motions of life (another song for another time!).

The whole time during the video, I keep thinking that maybe the violin players ought to do a stage dive thing or something...especially when the camera pans the stage and you see the two guys up on those platforms on the sides of Jen Ledger on drums. That would be kinda funny!

Pink Tux to the Prom by Relient K

This was already a hilarious song without the video...but then my family and I stumbled across this video that was made for the song. And no, this is not an official music video.

I have to hand it to the guys who made this video-they did an amazing job!

I love this song because of the 80s references...a nice tribute to the 80s :)

The Donut Song by the Donut Man

Think back...at least a good 20 or so years. Anyone remember the Donut Man? All the videos, and cassette tapes (yes, this was before cds were a standard!)? If you remember, then you probably recognize this song. This is the classic Donut Hole song. My family and I still break out into song sometimes "Life without Jesus is like a doughnut..."

And while I am on the topic of the Donut Man, let's watch the first 30 seconds of this video

I just love this part! One of the most memorable scenes, with Duncan the Doughnut thinking the Cheerios are doughnut seeds! lol

Rockstar by Third Day

I love this video that was created for the song! The lego characters look so much like Third Day, especially the one playing Mac Powell. The lego character even has a "Mac shirt" on-you know the kind I'm talking about :)

This video was actually played during the intermission of a Third Day Christmas Tour. How cool is that?

Rockstar
I wanna be a rock star
But, I ain't got what it takes
The drive and the determination
And the lucky breaks
I wanna be a rock star
But, I ain't got the face
I wanna be a rock star
But, I ain't got what it takes

Seeing my face up on the TV
Hearing my songs on the radio
People waiting all day in line to see me
Doing my pose for Rolling Stone

Well, it's alright, yeah it's alright

Living lifestyles of the rich and famous
Turning all heads in the music scene
Flying in my own jet plane to Vegas
Riding in a big black limousine

Well, it's alright, yeah it's alright

No, I ain't got nothing
But, to you I'm something
Something so much more

Look For Me by Decemberadio

This song is a song from God's point of view, talking to us, telling us about His love, His grace, His forgiveness. That if you look for Him, you will find Him there, right next to you, waiting, where He's always been. He is all you need. Nothing more. He will satisfy every need, every want, every desire. And actually, if you trust Him with your life, you will find that God is all you need, that He is your one desire. Who needs all this stuff, these toys, anyway? It doesn't make you happy. It doesn't make you feel any less empty inside. God is the only One who can fill you up, make you whole again.

And here are the lyrics to the song:

Look For Me

There's a shadow heavy as a blanket
Keeping all the light from shining through
There's a doubt deeper than the hope
That this world could ever offer you
There’s a war raging like a storm
Ripping through the core of what you know is true
There's a peace that passes understanding
Let it be the hand that you hold onto

I'll be the one that never lets you go
I want you to know that

Chorus
If you ever wonder where you are
If you ever think you've gone too far
I'll be that light out in the dark just look for Me
I'll be standing here with open arms
So close your eyes and trust your heart
And then you'll see, that I am all you need
Just look for Me

There's a grace dying to erase
All that you've said and done
There's a love always big enough
Doesn't really matter what you're running from
Let your faith take you to a place
Where life has just begun
Let your soul step into the flow
Brother, don't you know you can let it go
I want you to know that

Chorus

When you feel alone just look for Me, look for Me
I'll be your eyes when you cannot see
So lay down your pride, step inside
And let forgiveness cover you
You know it’s true, I'll never leave you

Chorus

Where I Belong by Revive

This song, Where I Belong, is off of Revive's first CD, Where I Belong, which is only found in limited copies in Australia, sadly. I keep hoping that Revive will include this song on one of their future CDs, as they have done before with the songs Power and Can't Change Yesterday.

I love this song because it's all about giving everything over to God. Breaking out from the monotony that we make this life become, and doing what He wants for our lives-despite how insane His ideas sound to everyone else.

Here are the lyrics to the song

Where I Belong
Wake up in the morning
Just like yesterday
Crawl into the shower
Its all just the same

And all I want to say is
Is there something more?
You've bought my life
And You've made me Yours

Chorus:
And I'll give it all to You
My whole life is in Your hands
And I'll give it all to You
In Your love is where I'll stand
Cause where You are
is where I want to be
it's where I belong

I'm caught in this sea
A recurring dream
I've forgotten what's real

Fighting and failing
Oh, Lord I'm praying
When's this routine gonna end?

But all I want to say is
Is there something more?
You've bought my life and made me Yours

Chorus

I'd Need A Savior, by Among the Thirsty

This is an incredible song by the band Among the Thirsty. This is off the CD Wonder, which isn't released yet. However, I'm not sure when the CD is to be released. What I do know is that this song is beautiful. I loved it from the first time I heard it on Klove.

This song is a wonderful reminder of how we ought to praise God, even through the rough times in life. He's with us always. And that everything we do, or went through, is all going to be praise to God.

Something to Say by Matthew West

This song, Something to Say is actually the inspiration for the title of this blog. It comes from Matthew West's latest CD, which happens to be called Something to Say as well.

This is one of my favorite Matthew West songs. Basically, the song is talking about how everyone (the barista at Starbucks, the guy that mows your lawn, your neighbors, your four year old child) all have something to say. It doesn't matter how well you think you can or can't say it-God will give you the words to speak.

So just say it.
